Female Arrested Following Dog Attack

Hamilton Police have arrested a 32-year-old female following a dog attack in the city’s east end.
On Thursday, December 22, 2022, shortly after 7:00 p.m. police were called to 1042 Barton Street East for a threatening in progress. Police were met with a chaotic scene including numerous victims of a dog attack.
A 32-year-old dog owner let her dog loose within the establishment and was encouraging the dog to attack citizens.
The dog continued to exhibit aggressive behavior and advanced towards officers and citizens. Police deployed their conductive energy weapon in order to control the dog and ensure further safety of everyone involved. The dog died on scene.
There were 11 victims as a result of this incident. The victims had injuries varying in nature from minor to serious, including two that will require surgery.
